Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how Slow Weave ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Apple, we collect:

• Email address — used as your account identifier and to associate you with your goals and communities
• Display name — shown to other community members

User-Generated Content

• Goals — descriptions, progress, and completion status
• Communities — names, membership lists, and streak data
• Pokes and nudges — when you encourage another community member, we store the sender name, recipient, goal reference, poke type, and timestamp

This content is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) and is visible to other members of your communities.

Push Notifications

When you grant notification permission, we collect a device token (Firebase Cloud Messaging token) to deliver push notifications — for example, when a community member pokes or nudges you about a goal. This token is stored alongside your user profile in Firestore and is removed when you sign out.

Crash Reports

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports, which include:

• Crash stack traces and error details
• Device operating system version
• App version
• Your user ID (to help us identify and resolve issues affecting your account)

Local Notifications

The app may schedule local reminder notifications on your device. These are processed entirely on-device and no notification data is sent to us.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect analytics or usage tracking data
• We do not collect advertising identifiers
• We do not collect location data
• We do not collect payment information
• We do not collect contacts, photos, or other device data

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

• Authenticate your account
• Store and display your goals and community data
• Show your name and membership to other community members
• Send push notifications for pokes, nudges, and other community interactions
• Diagnose and fix crashes

Optional ChatGPT Integration

You may optionally connect your account to a published Slow Weave GPT in ChatGPT. When you do:

• You sign in with your Slow Weave email and password through a secure OAuth flow. We store hashed authorization tokens — never your password.
• ChatGPT calls our API on your behalf using your OAuth access token. We do not proactively send your data to OpenAI.
• The ChatGPT Custom GPT can read your goals, communities, and progress, and can perform actions like creating goals or logging steps.
• You can disconnect ChatGPT at any time from Settings, which immediately revokes all access tokens.

This feature is entirely opt-in. It requires an email/password account and does not activate unless you sign in through the published GPT.

Data Storage and Third Parties

All data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, and Crashlytics). Google's privacy policy applies to their handling of this data: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

If you use the optional ChatGPT integration, your goals and community data may be accessed by OpenAI's ChatGPT service on your behalf. OpenAI's privacy policy applies: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy

We do not sell or transfer your data to any other third parties.

Data Visibility

• Your email address and display name are visible to members of communities you join.
• Your goals are visible to other members of the same community.
• Pokes and nudges are visible to community members and trigger push notifications to the recipient.
• Crash reports are only accessible by the app developers.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings > Delete My Account within the app. Account deletion is permanent and removes your goals, community memberships, and user profile.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
